Description
Pioneer Park is a village of 19th century houses and other buildings collected from around Whatcom County and moved to the park at the edge of Ferndale. The Shields House was built in 1885. A large, two-story, log structure, the home was built by Conrad Shields near Wiser Lake in northern Whatcom County. The cedar logs are so tightly dovetailed that there are no nails in the house, but still stands strong at 133 years old.
