Wells Dam, on the Columbia River, is about 12 miles north of Chelan, Washington. Looking north from the Wells Dam Rest Area, looking up the Columbia, a visitor sees sagebrush and hills that are still pale green in late May. By June, the hills will be brown and dusty, and the sage will be turning gray green. The North Cascades peek from the horizon, above the river. Recent rains have paused, and the sky is shades of blue and friendly cloud white, reflecting in the Columbia. May, 2018.
Welcome to my Vagabond Photography site. Much of my work is shot in Washington state, though I also wander other places in the western US and in southern British Columbia. I hope you enjoy the images of the places, things, and people that are displayed here. Vagabond Photography means seeking interesting, fun, remarkable sights, being a will-o'-the-wisp in search of the unusual, the beautiful, the engaging, and the truly awe inspiring. Perhaps you'd like to join me on my journeys. Welcome to my corner of the world! Welcome to Vagabond Photography, vagabonding (wandering) across the Pacific Northwest.
