Description
A full-sized bronze statue of Sacagawea, a Lemhi Shoshone woman who, at age 16, helped to guide Lewis and Clark across the west on the Voyage of Discovery, point west downriver along the Columbia River. The sculpture stands in a garden in Marine Park in Cascade Locks, Oregon. The bold explorer is accompanied by Seaman, the only animal to complete the journey to the coast and back with the Corps of Discovery. Mostly sunny skies in late July polish the statues. July, 2019.
