Description
Steel figures run through sun and shadow around Spokane's Riverfront Park. Men, women, and children, one man and one woman in wheel chairs race on a sidewalk course across Spokane Falls Boulevard from the downtown core. The sculpture, titled The Joy of Running Together, was created by David Govedare, and was inspired by the world famous Iris Bloomsday Run in Spokane. A real person was the model for each figure. The lead runner is modeled after Bloomsday founder Don Kardong. July, 2019.
