If you take I-84, visible on the right side of this shot, it's an hour and a half from The Dalles to Mt Hood, peeking over the horizon. Much of that trek will be paralleling the Columbia River. The Dalles region of rolling hills and rocks gives way to pines, then firs and cedars as you pass through the Columbia River Gorge. May, 2017.
