Artist's Description
The road above the marina climbs the hills to the village of Manson, where old timers and summer dwellers live side by side. Manson is the last community on the road on the north side of Lake Chelan. To reach Stehekin, many miles farther up the lake, one must take the Lady of the Lake, a ferry that takes mail and groceries twice a day to Stehikin. Puffy clouds in a robin's egg sky float above the lake that shades from navy to azure to teal near the shore. Apple orchards vie with sagebrush and resorts for space on the dusty hillside. September, 2016.
