Description
A picnic shelter with a fireplace stands at one corner of Sedro-Woolley's Riverfront Park on the banks of the Skagit River. The Park is the location of the space cleared by Mortimer Cook, one of the first settlers in the area. Cook built a house, cedar shingle mill, and a wharf in 1884. The Fairhaven and Southern Railway Depot, which ran to Cook's wharf on the river, was north of the shelter, behind the shelter and towards the center of the image.. October, 2020.
