Description
A plaque on a large rock next to this bridge describes it as the first highway bridge across the Columbia River south of the Canadian border, completed in 1908. The plaque was provided by Boy Scout Troop 89. The original bridge carried a wooden pipe with water drawn from the Wenatchee River to irrigate farms and orchards in the Wenatchee River and Columbia River Vallerys. The bridge is now used by walkers, runners, and cyclists between Wenatchee, on the far shore, and East Wenatchee. April, 2021.
