Description
Orange floats, larger than fifty gallon drums, are chained together to protect Lower Baker Dam at Shannon Lake, near the town of Concrete in the North Cascades. On the eastern shore of the lake, the chain of floats climbs a rocky hillside to an anchor among the trees. A sunny October day polishes the floats, shines the rocks, and causes the trees to gleam. October, 2017.
