Description
New Dipnet Platform at Cascade Locks. A new cedar platform is suspended from a wall of the Cascade Locks. The platform is used for dipnet fishing in the Columbia River. Exclusive fishing rights belong to the Yakama, Warm Springs, Nez Perce, and Umatilla tribes by treaty. A footbridge to Thunder Island, right, crosses the Columbia waterway that once flowed through locks that were submerged in 1938 by the construction of Bonneville Dam. January, 2025.
