Artist's Description
The Samish River wanders lazily across western Skagit County through a patchwork of farm fields, passing corn, berries, and dairy farms. A mile or so southwest of the tiny village of Bay View, the river opens wide as it meets Samish Bay. The mouth of the Samish is anchorage for several pleasure and fishing boats, including a catamaran, a small, unpretentious house boat, and a sport-fishing cabin cruiser. On the first day of spring, the deep blue river reflects the robin's egg sky.
