The East Wenatchee city emblem represents Miss Veedol circling the earth. The earth is represented as a golden apple. Miss Veedol was a Bellanca CH 400 Special Model J, single engine, two-seater that was the first plane to cross the Pacific non-stop. Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon, Jr, flew Miss Veedol from Misawa, Japan, to East Wenatchee in 1931. A red star in the western US marks East Wenatchee, where Miss Veedol landed. May, 2021.
