Lower Baker Dam impounds the Baker River to create Lake Shannon a mile north of Concrete. On this visit, the spillway was churning with water released from the lake. The dam, standing 285 feet above the riverbed, is operated by Puget Sound Energy as part of the Baker River Hydroelectric Project. It was bought on line in 1925. July, 2022.
