A lone pine stands tall beside Highway 4 as the mountain road journeys past the Valle Grande. The Valle Grande is the largest grass valley in the Valles Caldera, a wondrous, ancient collapsed monstrous volcano in the Jemez Mountains in northern New Mexico. Giant clouds shade the Valle on a September afternoon, suggesting rain to come. September, 2018.
