Artist's Description
A house on SE Court Place in Pendleton fronts on the Union Pacific (UP) railroad tracks. The railroad's gravel bed is in the foreground. The early morning sun illuminates two two-wheeled utility trailers that are parked in front of the house, each filled with the detritus of life. Two outdoor chairs keep company with a gas barbecue on a small concrete slab to the left of the front door. The grass and shrubs are yellow and brown, dead in late August, but two small green flower pots next to the front walk hold hopes for a greener tomorrow. August, 2018.
