Description
The broad Skagit River flows down from three high mountain lakes, Ross, Diablo, and Gorge, all elements of a massive hydroelectric project built by Seattle City Light to provide electricity to western Washington. Gorge Lake, the lowest of the three, feeds the Gorge Powerhouse at Newhalem. The footbridge on the right leads to the Ladder Creek Falls and Trail, behind the powerhouse. A February blue sky arches above snow frosted mountains in the North Cascades. February, 2019.
