Description

A powerful tug pushes two barges up the Columbia River between dusty hills, decorated by sage on the Oregon side, and by fruit orchards on the far shore, in Washington. This area, a mile west of Arlington, Oregon, and about mid way between The Dalles and Umatilla, is sparsely populated. I paused here, returning from experiencing a solar eclipse in northeast Oregon. No. 2 in a series. August, 2017.
