Nooksack is a city of 1600 in northeast Washington. On the north edge of town, a dilapidated old house and tumbledown garage sit on a corner lot with dandelions. The gray walls are faded, gradually disappearing, the garage is sagging, windows are cockeyed, this home has been forgotten. The weathered roof sheds its shingles. The seasons have done their best. What ghosts of memories still haunt the peeling walls, the sagging doors, the silent windows? September, 2018.
