The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. A huge Douglas Fir slab is the center of attention in a roadside rest stop on SR 20 overlooking Anacortes and Padilla Bay. The Olympic National Forest tree was 970 years old and 242 feet tall. The slab is almost seven feet across. June, 2017.
