Description
The historic Davis brothers blockhouse was converted from the Davis brothers' house in 1857. Early settlers around Ebey's Landing, just west of Coupeville, built several blockhouses and stockades in the 1850s as defenses in response to threats by indigenous tribes. The uprising was a response to the unfair treaties imposed by Governor Isaac Stevens. The blockhouse sits in Sunnyside Cemetery. July, 2021.
