Description
In Native American legends, Coyote holds a special place as trickster and benefactor. This aluminum sculpture by Richard Beyer in Wenatchee's Walla Walla Point Park depicts the story of Coyote leading salmon up the Columbia River to save people from starvation. Coyote promised that if people respected the salmon, they would return each year. Coyote has a young salmon in his arms and keeps an eye on two that are lingering by the river rocks. May, 2018.
