Description
The Fort Worden commanding officer and his family lived in this imposing home with a wrap-around porch, built in 1904, at the head of Officer's Row, a line of 12 residences. The CO's quarters overlooked Admiralty Bay, and had a grand view of Whidbey Island and Mt Baker. Over 30 officers and their families occupied the residence at the southeast corner of the parade ground. The house is now a museum. Fort Worden was part of the Triangle of Fire Coast Artillery emplacements that protected the entrance to Puget Sound. April, 2021.
