The Beebe family built a bridge across the Columbia, River, and opened it to vehicle and wagon traffic in October, 1919. That bridge was a concrete tower cable suspension bridge. The two towers, on on the far left and one on the shore on the right of the river in this image, are all that remains. The steel arch through bridge in this image, also named the Beebe Bridge, was opened in 1963. June, 2019.
Welcome to my photography site. After teaching college students for many years, I have discovered a new delight - capturing the world around me with a digital camera. Much of my work is shot in Washington state, though I also wander other places in the western US. I hope you enjoy the images of the places, things, and people that are displayed here. You might also like to explore my work presented at my related website tomcochranvagabondphotography.com I am a seeker of sights, a will-o'-the-wisp in search of the unusual, the beautiful, the engaging, and the truly awe inspiring. Perhaps you'd like to join me on my journeys. Welcome to my corner of the world!
