Description
The August sun sets over the Snake River, a vivid, unnatural green as it passes Twin Falls, Idaho. The color is due to sediment and agricultural runoff. The Snake River gorge cuts through the Snake River Plain that was created by basaltic sediment laid down by the Bonneville Flood some 14,500 years ago. The Blue Lakes Country Club is across the river in the center of the image. August, 2018.
