Description
A mudslide on March 22, 2014 a few miles east of Oso, Washington buried 43 children and adults and destroyed over 40 homes and other structures. The slide carried trees, mud, rocks, and other debris and covered over a square mile, 30 to 70 feet deep. Most of the homes were on Steelhead Drive. Nineteen steel mailboxes, including addresses, are replicas of lost mailboxes and tragically lost residents. The mailboxes are part of the Oso Landslide Memorial. March, 2020.
