Description
Three historic Okanagan Lake vessels sit quietly on the end of the beach in Penticton, next to the Okanagan River where it drains Okanagan Lake. The large paddle wheeler on the left is the SS Sicamous. Hiding under the willow tree, center, is the bright yellow SS Naramata. The Sicamous and Naramata were steam-powered vessels, luxury passenger vessel and barge tug, respectively, operated by the Canadian Pacific Railway. Tug No 6, white with a red smokestack, center, was a diesel engine tug on Okanagan Lake operated by the Canadian National Railway. October, 2019.
