US 101 begins in Los Angeles and follows the coast north through California, Oregon, and Washington state. This gallery is a collection of image along and near US 101 around Washington State. Beginning at the Astoria-Megler Bridge, near the mouth of the Columbia River, the highway travels north, passing through Aberdeen, the Olympic National Forest and National Park, turning east along the Strait of Juan de Fuca, through Port Angeles, to an intersection with State Route 20, 12 miles southwest of Port Townsend. The road continues south, along Puget Sound and then the shoreline of Hood Canal, and ends at I-5 in Tumwater, just south of the State Capitol in Olympia. The highway passes coastlines and mountains, rivers and roads, cities and small communities. It is scenic and beautiful for its entire length.
