Triangle of Death - Forts Worden Flagler and Casey Wall Art

The Triangle of Death in the Pacific Northwest was the field of fire covered by the artillery at Forts Worden, Flagler, and Casey, covering the mouth of Puget Sound to protect against potential naval assaults. The concrete batteries and underground ammo dumps were built in the 1890s, and are still standing. The artillery pieces were removed as scrap to be used in Europe during WW II. Two 10 inch guns, brought to Washington state as replacements, now stand at Fort Casey. Fort Worden was at northeast tip of the Olympic Peninsula, north of Port Townsend. Fort Flagler was about ten miles south of Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula. Fort Casey was on the western shore of Whidbey Island. This collection is about that Triangle of Death, a strategic defense that was never used.
