Okanogan County covers 5,315 square miles in north central Washington state. The county is abuts Canada on the north. The western boundary is a squiggly line that runs through the high peaks of the North Cascades. Most of the southern boundary is outlined by the Columbia River. The eastern boundary runs through the homeland of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, a north south line from the Canada border to Franklin D Roosevelt Lake which is created by Grand Coulee Dam. This collection includes images from the Okanogan towns of Winthrop, Twisp, Okanogan, and Pateros, a rough triangle I visited in early November, 2018, and on previous occasions. Winthrop is a western-themed town that caters to tourists and hunters, Pateros and Okanogan rely on fruit orchards and salmon fishing. The region includes dusty hills, pine forests, fertile river valleys, and snow-covered mountains. It looks like the real Old West.
