South of Winthrop, the Methow Valley is flat between the rolling hills that guard the farmland. Wheat is grown here, and hay, and horses are raised in grass pastures painted gold by the rising sun. Pine trees and rising hillocks cast long shadows across the pasture land in the early morning light and a parade of aspens on the far side of the valley hide the Methow River. A piebald sky, robins egg blue daubed with clouds white and gray, covers the quiet land at daybreak. November, 2018.
Welcome to my Vagabond Photography site. Much of my work is shot in Washington state, though I also wander other places in the western US and in southern British Columbia. I hope you enjoy the images of the places, things, and people that are displayed here. Vagabond Photography means seeking interesting, fun, remarkable sights, being a will-o'-the-wisp in search of the unusual, the beautiful, the engaging, and the truly awe inspiring. Perhaps you'd like to join me on my journeys. Welcome to my corner of the world! Welcome to Vagabond Photography, vagabonding (wandering) across the Pacific Northwest.
