Description
White Rock, BC, overlooks the northern shore of Semiahmoo Bay, on the Canada-US border. The city is named for this 486 ton boulder, deposited on the beach by glacial action. The rock was originally whitened by shell-eating seabird guano. It served as a beacon for ships in the bay for many years. It is now painted white periodically by city crews. March, 2020.
