Description
The Astoria waterfront provides moorage for a variety of vessels. These ships are moored at the Columbia River Maritime Museum. The vessel on the left is the decommissioned Lightship WAL-604 Columbia, now on the Register of Historic Places. From 1951 to 1978, the Columbia guided ships across the Columbia Bar and through the Graveyard of the Pacific.The ship to its right is the SS Legacy, a cruise ship that visits Alaska and sails up the Columbia River. October, 2017.
