Description
The walls are of adobe, mud laced with straw, and baked in the sun, in places four or five feet thick. A room just off the narthex is lined with hand made crosses, candles, and pictures of loved ones. The walls are also lined with crutches and canes, left behind as signs of healing by the dirt drawn from a hole in the floor, dirt that has been blessed by a priest and is believed to have healing powers for both both and soul. The front gates are always open.
