Description
An old, weathered, ramshackle house sits quietly on a corner lot in the Lettered Streets neighborhood of Bellingham. Half of the house was painted gray, now faded and chipped. The other half is a pale beige. A sagging, unfinished garage, slowly being engulfed by wild blackberry vines, supports a balcony that is surrounded by a fence, a hodge-podge of picket fence sections and sheets of plastic. Fence sections lie on the weedy yard next to an aging, rust-pitted, orange pickup. Despite the appearance, the house is a residence, home sweet home for someone. Late September brings gray skies to match the house.
