Description
Albuquerque's east mesa, the foothills of the Sandia Mountains, is high desert country. Prickly pear cactus, the large-lobed plants at the bottom center of the image, are common, and a good thing to avoid. Creosote bush, the shrub left of center, is also wide spread in the sandy soil and volcanic rocks east of Albuquerque.
