Description
The Lower Baker Dam creates Lake Shannon, which is fed by the Baker River and a number of smaller streams, high in the North Cascades. Shannon Lake is northeast of the town of Concrete. These orange barrels, half again as large as a fifty gallon drum, stretch across the Lake just above the dam to ward off errant boats and block floating debris and fallen trees. Each floating barrel is three feet in diameter and four feet long. April, 2018.
