Description
Old Pilings across Edison Slough. Aging, weathered old pilings stand in the channel of Edison Slough. The pilings appear to be supports for a long gone bridge across the slough. Edison Slough is a finger of Samish Bay that twists and winds in an ever-narrowing channel for a mile or so through the tiny community of Edison and beyond across the farmlands of western Skagit County. Because the slough connects to Samish Bay, the water in the slough ebbs and flows with the tide. In this shot, the tide is out and the muddy bottom of the slough is exposed. Late October blue sky and green trees are reflected in the calm water of the slough. 2019.
