A long train of oil tank cars chugs across a swing bridge over the Swinomish Channel near Anacortes. BNSF freight trains ride these rails twice a day in each direction. The sky is a robin's egg blue on a chilly day in early December. The bridge pivots in the middle of the channel to allow boats to pass. The tracks parallel State Route 20 near Anacortes. December, 2018.
