Description
The Hawaiian Chieftain is an 80 ton, 104 foot, gaff-rigged ketch that sails in tandem with the Lady Washington, the state's official vessel, for educational cruises along the coast. The two tall ships docked at the Squalicum Harbor in early August, 2016. Though built of steel, the design was influenced by the colonial packets that traded along the Atlantic coast.
