Description
The eastern slopes of the Cascades, near Leavenworth, are cloaked by apple orchards. The weather often turns cold in the mountains long after the apples have started to grow. Some orchardists save the fruit with frost fans or wind machines that circulate the cold air and bring in warmer air from above
