Description
Native American tribes have fished for salmon in the Columbia River for centuries using woven cedar nets and spears. When hydroelectric dams were built on the river, drowning the fishing sites, dip net platforms such as these were installed. The platforms are owned and used only by local tribes. These platforms are attached to Thunder Island off Cascade Locks, Oregon.
