Description
La Conner was settled in 1867 as Swinomish and the name was changed to La Conner in 1869. The Elwood Johnson house was built in 1898. La Conner has several fine old historic homes, and the center part of town is a national historic district. The Johnson house is decorated with delicately carved and painted gingerbread, an architectural feature popular in the late 19th century. June, 2016.
