Clean Power and Old Ranch Gates. Two wood ranch gates, chained together to bar intruders, guard a gravel ranch road that winds around a hill beneath tall, white wind turbines. The ranch is home to a large wind farm west of Ellensburg in central Washington. In late summer, the sky is a crystal clear, azure blue and the grass is yellow and brown. The average wind turbine is 80 meters or more than 250 feet up to the hub. September, 2016.
