Description
The vaulted sky over Northern New Mexico can range from angry gray through royal blue to a robin's egg hue. On this early September day, the cotton ball sky was a delicate shade on the horizon and azure blue overhead. Sandstone hills and rocks, speckled by junipers in the distance, showed layers of shale, a palette of grays and pinks. An old juniper tree, bare of branches and scraggly with age, guards the hills near US 84, south of Echo Amphitheater. September, 2018.
