Description

Leavenworth, Washington, is in the center of the state, on the eastern slopes of the North Cascades. In the early 1960s, shop owners agreed to remodel the buildings on Front Street, and nearby blocks to bring in business. The Bavarian Village is now a major tourist attraction, year round. This shot, looking northeast on Front Street, shows the Bavarian store fronts that help make the city so popular at the end of June on a balmy day.
