North Cascades - Wall Art

The North Cascades stretch from the Fraser River and Thompson River in British Columbia, south to Mount Ranier in Washington, bounded by the Columbia River on the east, a region that is often dry, with pines and sagebrush covering the hills and lower slopes, to the western slopes that reach toward Puget Sound, green from snow and rain, thick with cedars and firs and blackberry brambles. Crossed by three highways, State Route 20 in the north, eastbound from Anacortes and Burlington to Winthrop and beyond, US 2 in the middle, from Everett eastward to Wenatchee, and beyond all the way to Maine, and I-90 across the southern part of the range Seattle to the East Coast. Mt Baker and Twin Sisters Peaks, Diablo and Wenatchee Lakes, Winthrop and Newhalem, Bellingham and Wenatchee, forests and farms, cedar and sage, a high, beautiful land of promise and hope.
