Ferndale Washington - Wall Art

Five miles north of Bellingham, just off I-5, the city of Ferndale, population about 12,000, is the third largest city in Whatcom County. Settled in 1872, it's named after the ferns that grew around the original school house. Ferndale relied on timber, dairy and berry farming, and now on the Cherry Point Oil Refinery. The people of Ferndale value their heritage. If you have a chance, visit the Hovander Homestead Park and Pioneer Village, which show off the importance of the area's history. It's a quiet, comfortable place to live.
